Hummus is the friggin bomb! I couldn't believe I hadn't posted a regular, plain jane hummus recipe to the blog yet. I love to experiment with other flavours but nothing beats classic hummus done right!
The secret to getting hummus to be extra creamy is simple, blend the tahini, olive oil garlic until it's smooth and then add your chickpeas and spices.
SO fluffy, so creamy and incredibly tasty. Nothing beats classic hummus done right!! I love to eat this healthy snack with veggies, crackers, on toast with avocado (the best) or, honestly, just by the spoonful. Enjoy!
3 garlic cloves
3 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 tbsp tahini
Juice of 1/2 a lemon (about 1 tbsp)
1 19oz can chickpeas
1/4 tsp cumin
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup chickpea liquid
Using a food processor, blend the garlic, olive oil, tahini, and lemon juice for about a minute until the garlic is chopped up and everything is combined into a smooth-ish paste.
Next, add the chickpeas, cumin, cayenne, salt, and chickpea liquid. Blend until creamy and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Taste and adjust the seasonings to your liking, enjoy!
